Vevo Meets: Tove Styrke

Tove Styrke got the performing bug from her parents – dad topped the Swedish pop chart in 1975 and mom taught ballet. Tove danced, learned piano and sang in a jazz band, did a stint as a model, and first entered the spotlight in 2009 when she appeared on the Swedish edition of Simon Cowell’s ‘Idol’ (she finished third). Her self-titled electro-pop debut dropped in 2010, featuring the single “Million Pieces,” which was co-written by Lykke Li. Tove has kept it rolling with a pair of EPs and her second album, ‘Kiddo’ (2015), and the April release of “Say My Name,” which was applauded by Elton John and Lorde, who placed the song on her Spotify playlist, “Homemade Dynamite.” Her new runaway-bride-themed video, “Mistakes” is a must-see. See what she says about practicing Whitney Houston songs as a kid, appearing on ‘Idol,’ and loving Lorde.
